Walk Through Walls is proud to announce it has been awarded the bronze award from the Ministry of Defence’s Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS). This prestigious recognition highlights UK employers who actively support the Armed Forces community, including serving personnel, veterans, reservists, and their families.
The ERS has three award levels – bronze, silver, and gold – and this achievement marks Walk Through Walls’ first formal step towards becoming a higher-level Armed Forces employer.
For Walk Through Walls, this award is about more than just recognition. It reflects workplace policies and a culture that values the skills, dedication, and leadership that military personnel bring, alongside flexibility for those balancing service and civilian careers.
Gary Sambrook, Managing Partner at Walk Through Walls, said:
“Receiving the bronze ERS award is a proud moment for us. It’s a recognition of our ongoing commitment to the Armed Forces community – not just in words, but in action through the campaigns and support we deliver.”
This commitment extends into the company’s campaign work. Currently, Walk Through Walls is supporting KP Law to raise awareness and attract claimants for its group action against 3M. The case seeks justice for military personnel who suffered hearing loss due to defective ear protection. More information is available at 3mclaims.co.uk.
Paul Cadman, Group CEO of One Thousand Trades Group – the parent company of Walk Through Walls – said:
“This award reinforces our values as a business group. We are committed to using our skills, networks, and influence to support those who have served, and to stand alongside organisations seeking justice and recognition for them.”
Walk Through Walls will soon be officially listed on the Ministry of Defence ERS bronze award holder list. Our next goal is clear – achieving silver status.
We are developing a targeted strategy to build on our Armed Forces-friendly policies, expand our outreach to veterans and reservists, and deepen our partnerships with defence-related organisations. By demonstrating measurable impact and sustained support, we aim to meet the higher criteria for silver recognition and set a strong foundation for eventually achieving gold.
