Claire Lishman

Claire has more than 20 years’ experience in communications, media, PR and marketing. Much of Claire's work has been in the arts and culture sectors, including dance, theatre, opera and classical music. She also supports clients across the hospitality and political sectors. After 12 years working in in-house press office roles, Claire moved into freelance consultancy in 2016. Since then, she has worked with a wide range of organisations and individuals, with a particular focus on arts and culture clients and those looking to raise their media profile. Claire has experience telling the story for National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) schemes. These include Birmingham Town Hall’s “Amplify Town Hall” project, which received a grant to support a major refurbishment and archive project. As such she is very familiar with the intricacies of NLHF requirements, including logos, approvals, mentions, quotes, and the ongoing liaison required with the NLHF team throughout a project. Across in-house and freelance roles, Claire’s career has taken her around the world, working with diverse audiences, artists, media and stakeholders in Hong Kong, the USA and across Europe. Claire has worked with leading national and international publications, broadcasters and organisations, promoted numerous charitable initiatives and collaborated closely with development and fundraising teams. With extensive experience and a strong understanding of the media and PR landscape, Claire offers clients a comprehensive, thoughtful and effective service across all areas of communication.
